Thomas Zwahlen, 35 years
Profession: mountain guide / leader Alpinschule BERGFALKE, part-time: electrician
Living in Thun / BE, Switzerland
On the Anniversary Expedition Everest 2003, I will be responsible as the technical leader.
At the age of 5 years, I had my first ski tour with my father. This infected me with the virus "MOUNTAIN ADVENTURE".
I experienced many tours with ski, later with snowboard and telemark ski, in winter. In the summer, high mountain tours, climbing and canyoning followed.
First as a Youth and Sports (J&S) participant, later as a J&S leader. After my professional training as an electrician and the military service, I did the mountain guide aspirant course at the age of 21. With 24 years, I could successfully receive the mountain guide brevet.
I climbed and skied many big walls, climbs and ski tours in Switzerland and abroad. From Eiger North Face to the Nose (Yosemite / USA) to Cho Oyu 8201m.
In addition, many expeditions in Africa, South America (Alpamayo, Acongagua and othersw), Alaska (Mt.Mc Kinley 4x) , freeriding tours in the High Tatra / Slowakia, ski tours in the High Atlas / Morocco or in the year 2002 ski and snowboarding in Norway.
Besides many dream destinations which I could personally experience, the training of my guests is an important issue for me.
Since many years I am active in Youth and Sports camps, continuing education courses for leaders, rescue courses and avalanche courses.
By all these activities, I am continuously in discussion with my guests and advise about different material issues. My guests are young persons and adults:
snowboarders, tour skiers, climbers and canyoning freaks.
