High mountains: map
After completion of the 6000 m peak list, the complete list comprises more than 14000 summits; map representation works only for up to 5000 waypoints.Therefore I have separated the data by regions. You can view
- Himalayas and high ranges east of the Himalayas
- Karakoram and Hindukush
- Pamir, Tienshan, Kunlun
- Tibet and Transhimalaya
- Asia except the high central Asian ranges
- Europe: Southwest (Spain, Portugal, France, Benelux, Germany, Alps)
- Europe: North, East, and Italy
- Africa
- North and Central America
- South America
- Oceania, and Antarctica
- only range outlines, no mountains, whole world
7 shows all between 6 and 8° east, correspondingly e.g. 9.
This representation is only useful in Asia, i.e. between 70° and 103° east: 70 71 72 73 74 75 76 77 78 79 80 81 82 83 84 85 86 87 88 89 90 91 92 93 94 95 96 97 98 99 100 101 102 103
Navigation and better methods for data selection are in progress!
The maps show some simplified mountain range limits; these are not yet finished.
